It is a 1972 Am General, M-54-A-2, purchased from Eastern Surplus and Equipment Co. in 2010. Beginning in 2011, the truck under went a complete restoration that was completed in 2016.
Eastern Surplus and Equipment Co. played a key role in assisting the owner, Rob Weissberg in accomplishing his goal of producing an award winning vehicle representing Vietnam service.
During the restoration project, Eastern Surplus and Equipment Co. provided expert technical advise and mechanical support, as well as providing correct replacement parts, tires, vehicle upgrades and expert painting facilities.
In 2019, the truck was entered for professional judging at the MVPA national convention held in York, Pennsylvania. The truck won the Veterans award, the highest award in class. It scored 99.127 out of a possible 100 points and was featured in two national magazines.
